Jones Travel Company History
In the fall of 1969 Phil Jones turned a vision and
his dream into reality by forming a small transportation company
providing transportation services to groups throughout
southeastern Wisconsin. What started out as a small
operation with just a few buses grew over the years to meet the
ever-increasing demands for quality service at a fair price.
Soon after starting the business,
Jones Travel began offering a full-line of escorted
motorcoach tours throughout North America.
In 1992, Scott and Eric Jones, Phil’s sons, began their own
business called Jones School Bus Service, Inc. They provided
school transportation services to over 20 school districts in
southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. In 1995, Phil
Jones retired and sold Jones Travel to Scott and Eric.
After the events of 9/11 led to a severe downturn in the economy
and travel, Scott and Eric decided to dissolve the tour
operations of the company and concentrated solely on the
delivery of quality charter services to customers throughout the
region. In 2005, Scott and Eric sold their interest in Jones
School Bus Service to Durham School Services and now
concentrates solely on providing quality
motorcoach,
minibus and trolley services.
With Scott’s passing, Eric along with a dedicated team of employees are
working each day to improve and grow the business to meet the
ever changing demands of the customer. New amenities and
comforts for customers such as WI-FI connectivity on our fleet,
purchasing state-of-the-art over the road buses, providing
handicapped services at each level of our service (including
Trolleys!) are all part of the effort to provide services
expected and needed by our customers.
